AutoCAD in the cloud, also known as AutoCAD WS, is getting a lot of interest. AutoCAD WS enables you to share AutoCAD drawings (DWGs) including viewing and editting over the web. Users can view, edit, and share drawings with just a browser, or with standalone iOS or Android apps.

Autodesk Announces 2012 Products for Infrastructure

Autodesk has announced the 2012 release of products for the infrastructure industry.

AutoCAD Map 3D 2012, which provides intelligent modeling for infrastructure planning, now includes distribution data models for the gas, water, wastewater, and electric industries.

Autodesk Infrastructure Map Server 2012, which includes all the functionality of Autodesk MapGuide Enterprise and Autodesk Topobase Web, adds a new mobile viewer extension and a GeoREST extension.

After a few years of development and millions of lines of code this first native AutoCAD for Mac is a giant leap forward in providing Autodesk customers the choice of platforms for their trusted AutoCAD and DWG files.

I blogged previously about Project Butterfly, an Autodesk Labs Technology Preview that allowed AutoCAD users to edit AutoCAD drawings over the web just using a web browser.
Autodesk has announced the commercial availability of AutoCAD WS. AutoCAD WS is a web application that allows you to view, edit, and share drawings (.dwg) through a web browser or a mobile device.
